Web TV – helping business communicate better

Web TV has been around for a few years now but is just becoming more main stream and a medium that is being used more and more by businesses. Forward thinking companies have already realised how they can turbo charge their communications and instead of sending reports out to their clients they can talk directly to them through targeted web videos. These achieve many goals an interim or annual report cant. It engages directly with the client, makes the business personal, and helps them understand and retain the information being given to them.
Web TV as a major communication tool
Web Streaming is now technically possible to a high level and some medium to large sized companies are saving considerable sums and being greener by reducing the amount of travel their sales people are doing and imparting a lot of information via internal Web TV stations. For example an account manager for a photocopier sales company doesn’t need to travel half way around the world to show its distributors the benefits of the new model or upgrade, this can be achieved faster and cheaper by creating an engaging film package and streaming it online along with any supporting paperwork available to download.
The benefits
- Significant green points
- Saves the company money
- Makes the whole operation more efficient due
Spike productions recognised three years ago that this was a growing market and invested in gaining knowledge and experience necessary to offer web tv and streaming services to clients. “we knew that it was only a matter of time before people came knocking and we have seen a steep rise in the work we are doing for businesses requiring web streaming. Many are trying it out for the first time with a view to using it more in the future others are already there.”
The key point to successfully achieving an efficient web streaming or tv function for your business is quite simple. The production standards need to be high to engage the viewer and clearly communicate the messages and the films need to stream consistently and to a high broadcast standard.
Spike can currently offer the worlds leading full screen fully broadcast quality web streaming for corporate films with rich data on viewing figures that will be a god send for any marketing managers trying to measure the success rates. The films can be viewed by simply clicking on a link on the businesses website, it couldn’t be easier.
Company’s who believe it is too complicated to integrate film into their websites can use this facility or a new product Spike has launched this year called Spikecast. This is a simple and secure way for a business to show videos from its own website without having to redevelop it. It’s a complex technology which has been made from simple for the user and developed by the Spike team.
Warren Mauger Spike’s Guernsey managing director sees this as one of the most exciting developments in the industry since colour television was launched. “This is an exciting development for us at Spike and is something that will put us and the companies that use this system right up to the top of tree when it comes to the high quality of the web streaming on offer. However this is just the start for us, already we are working on full web tv channels for the corporate and public market which in the near future will be available on television sets just like sky channels are now.”
