Q1: Have you got any tips on how to manage a corporate video production project?
A: Yes, lots! It can be daunting if you haven’t dealt with this before but the best option is to get in touch with us and we can meet you and talk you through the process. Our team are very friendly and are happy to meet potential clients even before they know if they want to commission a video. We believe it is more helpful to give you realistic expectations and help you get the most out of producing a film and let you enjoy the process as well. If you would like to find out more, contact us to discuss, or alternatively view our ‘How to manage a video project’ guide which should give you a good idea of what is involved. We recently supplied this to CIM marketing students to help them in their marketing communications module. The guide includes, as you may expect, information on planning your corporate video, plus it provides an introduction to the steps for pre-production, production, post production and video duplication and distribution.
Q2: What is Hi Def Video?
A: The clue really in the name, High Definition Video (HD video) is four times the size and four times the quality of your standard definition video. Making it an ideal choice for corporate films especially for display on HD Plasmas and LCD screens at corporate shows and exhibitions. Having the higher definition on the video makes it easier for the film to be viewed further away and allows the viewer to see every little detail added.

Q3: Is it possible to convert a normal DVD into High definition?
A: It is not possible to convert a normal DVD into a high definition DVD. It is possible to create a high definition DVD but these need to be filmed on High definition equipment.
Spike Productions use the latest equipment to shoot their films, including full broadcast standard cameras, lighting and sound and have a full post production facility including edit suites, graphics suites and production offices
We advise our clients to have their corporate films and broadcasts shot in HD as increasing trends are showing that this format will become standard in the future.

Q4: What type of cameras do Spike Productions use?
A: We use a range of cameras depending on the clients requirements, we generally shoot on anything from HDCAM through to HDV and DVCAM.

Q5: How can I put video on my corporate website?
A: Web streaming and Web TV is an area we have expertise in. We have developed products that enable businesses to stream their films online with the minimum of hassle or cost. It is possible to buy a SpikeCast site from us which is a dedicated site housing your companies films, this adds more value to the films you have paid for and will improve all internal and external communications. It also makes visitors stay on your website longer. See www.spikecast.co.uk for examples of companies already using Spikecast for their web tv and web streaming.

Our most popular films for corporate clients however have included Training videos, Television commercials, product promotions, in store advertising, internal corporate communications, online films for web, broadcast documentaries. A: Firstly we don’t just work in the UK, we have worked on several international locations. On any given month our crews can be found in America Europe, Asia or the UK so travelling is not a problem.
