This documentary was the very first project Spike produced. It is an hour long film which involved the crew filming extensively before the race and following the team on the four day trip from London to Paris. The film crew also had little sleep and had to shoot in some testing conditions. Below is a brief synopsis of the programme
Sixteen amateur rowers took on Mother Nature and overcame pain and huge mental demands to row from London to Paris. Their objective was to break the world record previously set at a punishing 90 hours 33 minutes 33 seconds. They were also trying to raise money for MS sufferers.
The programme takes you to the heart of the action, Witness the moments of pain, fear, hope and finally triumph, as they battle to break the record against the odds. Be amazed at the speed they repair a hole in the boat in the Middle of the River Seine, and enjoy the moment when they realise they’ve smashed the record to smithereens.
